Every ingredient in an Interna fragrance is chosen with singular purpose — not for convenience, but for character. We source at origin, work directly with growers, and accept nothing less than extraordinary.
Oud Assam
Agarwood from the Assam region of northeastern India is among the rarest materials on earth. Formed when the Aquilaria tree is infected by a specific mould, the resin that develops over decades becomes oud — dark, animalic, and profoundly complex. Our oud is sustainably harvested and steam-distilled to preserve every nuance of its ancient character.
"The wood that changed the world's understanding of luxury."
Rose Absolute
The Taif rose blooms only in the mountains of western Saudi Arabia, at elevations above 1,800 metres. Harvested by hand before dawn when the petals hold the most oil, it takes five tonnes of blossoms to produce a single kilogram of absolute. The result is richer, darker, and more honeyed than any other rose on earth — a material that commands reverence.
"Five tonnes of petals, gathered before the world wakes."
Vetiver
Haitian vetiver is considered the world's finest — deeper and more complex than its Indian or Indonesian counterparts, with an earthy smokiness that evolves on the skin for hours. The roots are harvested after 18 months, hand-washed in mountain streams, and dried before distillation. The resulting oil is the backbone of many of the world's greatest fragrances, providing depth, longevity, and soul.
"The soul of the soil — raw, honest, enduring."
Ambergris
Among the most mythologised materials in perfumery, ambergris forms naturally in the digestive system of sperm whales and is found floating in the North Atlantic after years at sea. Only ethically sourced, ocean-found ambergris is used — never harvested. It imparts an incomparable warmth, a marine softness, and a fixative quality that makes all other ingredients bloom and linger far beyond their natural lifespan.
"Found by the sea, not taken from it."
Bergamot
Grown exclusively in the coastal strip of Calabria in southern Italy, the bergamot citrus is cold-pressed from the rind to capture its luminous, green-tinged radiance. It is the opening breath of a fragrance — the first impression that sets the tone for everything to follow. Calabrian bergamot is prized for its exceptional clarity and the almost floral quality that distinguishes it from any other citrus in the world.
"The first light of a fragrance — radiant, fleeting, unforgettable."
Black Pepper
Kerala's Malabar coast has produced the world's finest black pepper for over three thousand years. In perfumery, the essential oil is steam-distilled from unripe peppercorns to capture the sharp, spicy-woody facets without the culinary heat. It provides the electric opening charge that commands immediate attention — the ingredient that says, without apology, that something remarkable has entered the room.
"Three thousand years of spice — distilled into a single breath."
